To begin with, I’ve never been to any European country
The Trip Review
To begin with, I’ve never been to any European country. I had no notion about how it looks like, (pictures from the internet are not considered, they can’t transfer the real view) and England didn’t disappoint me at all.
Firstly, England has a harmonious mix of nature and architectural beauty. For example, the Stonehenge. Stonehenge is an architectural wonder, but it’s located in a fantastic dale, so you can enjoy stunning view from the top of some hill as well.
Secondly, you can see the loveliness of England absolutely anywhere. Unfortunately, I had no opportunity to visit such great cities as Manchester, York, Edinburg etc., so I do not vouch for them, but Bath, which is not even a big city, is awesome. Before the trip to Bath, I imagined it as a swamp with a cathedral. If only you knew, how wrong I was. Every house is somehow decorated, the city is full of ancient buildings, you can walk around the common street, and suddenly see a five-hundred aged bell tower! That’s why I enjoyed Salisbury and Bath more than London.
That’s about England itself, but also need to say a bit about the place where I lived. It was a pity that I learnt the truth only at the last day. Downside is a catholic school with a huge church (the size of the cathedral) and storage of very rare artifacts. I am not allowed to tell what kind of artifacts (MI5 is not sleeping), but as I was told, the ‘Downside treasures’ exhibition is going to open soon.
I don’t think it’s necessary to write about conditions of accommodation, but I want underline the way of selection of the staff. The staff was perfect, mostly it was consisted of people about 20 years old, which is, in my opinion, the best age for a camp counselor. Such people can easily communicate with teenagers, and they’re not as boring as poor beat-up 70 years old grannies.
All this: excursions, lessons, and so on, is a great part of the trip, but for me, meeting new people is much more valuable. And that’s the point, I met a lot of people from Austria, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and even Japan. Nothing can compare with it.
So, ultimately, the trip was productive and extremely interesting, for which I am grateful to people from the "Master Class". I’m looking forward to dealing with you again.
